Lincoln is sponsored by Karen Winstead “in honor of Brian, Christine, Elijah, Gracelyn, and Ruth.”
Lincoln came to WHS in late 2020 as a scared, confused pup. He was relatively unsocialized for a one-year-old dog, and could be reactive and intimidating to strangers. His size certainly didn't help- at 80 lbs, Lincoln could easily come across as big and scary, when in reality he was overwhelmed and stressed. Staff quickly saw Lincoln for the goofy, awkward boy that he truly is, and with a little patience and care, he became one of the more affectionate, playful dogs at our facility. Lincoln can still be spooked by strangers, and we occasionally see glimmers of that ‘scary' front he likes to put up when faced with confusing situations. His anxieties and fears are still prevalent in his personality, but a little socialization would go a long way with Lincoln. We are hoping to find a home for him that is able to give him the time and training he deserves to become the best version of himself. Lincoln loves to spend time out in our play yard, and has quickly earned the title of "Play Group Rockstar"- he would love to go to a home where he can have a furry playmate! An active home with a fenced in yard or lots of land would be ideal for his goofy antics- Lincoln is happiest when given the space to play, wrestle, and explore!
