Making low-cost spay/neuter available for pets in Watauga and Ashe Counties!
Ms. Sparkle Spayed says, "For the love of animals, Spay/Neuter is a Postive Solution!
Now in its tenth year, SNIPS* is 30+ members strong and growing. Original arts and crafts are sold throughout the year at fairs, malls, general stores, and other venues throughout the community. In addition, SNIPS holds monthly restaurant benefits, seasonal plant sales, picnics and other events to fund low-cost spay/neuter surgeries. SNIPS is dedicated to reducing animal intake and euthanasia numbers by raising funds to provide low-cost spay/neuter services for Watauga and Ashe County pets. The program is intended to help pet owners for whom the cost of spay/neuter surgery is a hardship. However, all animals deserve our help; thus, no one is turned away.
In 2018, SNIPS specials funded surgeries for more than 700 dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens in Watauga and Ashe counties. Well over half of those surgeries were performed by our local veterinarian partners. With your help, we'll reach 1000 animals in 2019!
SNIPS funds also help cover spay/neuter surgery and rabies vaccination costs for the Watauga Humane Society Community Cat Network!

How You Can Help
To keep the “SNIPS Specials” going, we need your help! Donations can take several forms:
Send money! Make a check payable to the Watauga Humane Society, write “SNIPS” on the memo line, and mail to Watauga Humane Society, PO Box 1835, Boone, NC 28607. You can also donate online HERE!
Donate your time and talents! SNIPS needs event sales staff, cashiers, note writers, graphic designers and gardeners, as well as crafters.
If you own a restaurant or a business, consider hosting a “Percentage Day” for SNIPS! You donate a percentage from that day’s proceeds; we design fliers, post the event on social media and advertise to all 400 WHS volunteers!
