Bandito's story began in 2022, when he arrived at Watauga Humane Society as a stray-thin, dehydrated, and barely holding on. We nursed him back to health, and he blossomed into a happy, goofy boy who finally found a home.
But life isn't always fair.
In August last year, Bandito returned-this time, nearly 40 pounds heavier, after his beloved owner faced devastating health challenges. Suddenly, the boy who once struggled to gain weight was starting over again.
He's now on a healthy path (low-cal snacks only) and rediscovering his playful spirit. Yes, he's strong. Yes, he's a little "selective" with other dogs. And yes-he can be overwhelmed by loud places or quick movements.
But underneath that chunky frame and cautious heart? There's a loyal, hilarious, endlessly loving companion waiting for someone to see him-not just as another dog, but as the best friend he's longing to be.
