There are several health and behavioral benefits to spaying (female pets) and neutering (male pets). For many of us, our pets are just like family. We dote on them, love them, and want to ensure the best care for them. At Watauga Humane Society, we feel the same and aim to help educate pet owners about these benefits while also helping control pet populations.
Spaying/neutering your pet is a great way to keep your pet healthy, but what about other veterinary care? Establishing a relationship with a veterinarian helps monitor your pet’s health, ensuring any problems are caught early and treated before they turn into bigger issues. Your pet’s veterinarian also sets up a vaccination schedule so your pet is protected against common viruses. View our Pet Resources HERE.
If you have financial need, SNIPS of Watauga Humane Society can help you get your furry friend fixed.
The Watauga Humane Society mission includes promoting spay/neuter for all pets in our community. SNIPS is the all-volunteer WHS committee dedicated to reducing pet homelessness by helping community members who are struggling financially to fix their pets. SNIPS volunteers work extremely hard to raise funds, but we receive many more requests for support than we can afford and currently have limited spay/neuter services. We, therefore, kindly ask that if you can take your pet to a local vet to be spayed or neutered, please do so.
