Meet Bentley - Ready for What's Next
Bentley arrived with wide eyes and a steady stream of nervous energy. Adoption center life wasn't really his speed, and honestly, he made that pretty clear.
Then came a heartworm diagnosis, which meant everything had to slow down. He headed into foster care, where healing looked a lot like naps, snacks, and not being asked to figure everything out all at once. Much more his speed.
Three months later, he's finally medically cleared.
He's still the same sensitive, thoughtful guy who prefers calm over chaos and couches over cardio (his sploot game is unmatched).
Bentley has lived with young kids and handled it well. He's also met plenty of dogs and, while it's clear he doesn't entirely know how to dog, he's managed just fine with a bit of awkwardness. As for cats... the jury's still out.
He's still in foster, taking meet-and-greets by appointment only (his terms, obviously). If you'd like to meet him, email adopt@wataugahumane.org to set up a time.
Thank you to Bynum Merritt for giving Bentley the space to recover, reset, and come back into himself - no rush, just real care.
Bentley is a 65-pound, 7-year-old, neutered male who has been in our care since November 18th 2025.
