When most people think of spring, they think of daffodils, tulips, and the smell of fresh-cut grass we’ve missed so much.
At Watauga Humane Society, we think of kittens. Hundreds of them.
Right now, one of them is Egg; a tiny black-and-white kitten, barely bigger than a handful, already needing more care than his size would suggest.
The Tiny Toe Bean Era is upon us, and it asks a lot. Each year, we take in over 1,200 cats, about 800 of them arrive during Kittens Season. And while it’s always a joy to have them around, as the grown-ups in the room, we’re always planning for what comes next.
Your support is what allows us to prepare before the rush, while it’s still possible to do so. It means having supplies ready, space cleared, and the hands in place to meet the need when it arrives.
Like any storm, kitten season doesn’t begin all at once; it starts with a few small drops.
Right now, those drops look a lot like Egg and a handful of other tiny kittens already in our care. But we know what’s coming, and with your help, we’ll be ready when the storm arrives. 🐾
