What is the process for adopting?

Currently we are doing adoptions by appointment. To get started, please fill out our online application for any pets that are “Available” or “Taking Applications”. Our adoption team will reach out to you via email or phone within 24 - 72 hours to talk about your application further, and help you find the best companion for you and your home. From there, we will set you up with an appointment for adoption. Please note that we are experiencing higher than normal application volumes, and there is no guarantee that submitting an application will provide you with an appointment. You may also email our adoption team at adopt@wataugahumanesociety.org to discuss the process further.

What is the cost to adopt?

Adoption fees can be found on our How to Adopt page. The cost for adoption includes the cost of spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccinations, bloodwork, deworming, preventatives, 24PetWatch microchip, free brief health exam with participating veterinarians, pet supply coupons, and sample bag of Hill's Science Diet food.
