Meet Oakley: graduate of Very Good Girl University (with honors, of course)
Oakley came to us when her owner had to make the heartbreaking decision to surrender her. His life had changed in ways that no longer matched hers.
People often assume most intake appointments are the result of someone giving up. They picture quick decisions and never looking back. But that couldn't be further from the truth. Some intakes are filled with nothing but tears, love, and heartbreak.
This was one of them.
Her person had poured everything into her: multiple training classes, countless hours of hiking, and working through challenges side by side. He loved her deeply. But sometimes life tosses you a sour lemon, and all you can do is make the harder choice, even when it feels wrong.
Oakley is, honestly, pretty perfect. She's playful, adores water and tennis balls, knows her commands inside and out, and is one of our best travel buddies. She just needs one thing: to be your one and only. No other pets, please.
Oakley is a 3-year-old, 78-pound spayed female who's been with us for over 93 days-and she's more than ready to go home.
