We're Hiring: Director of Development and Communications! 

Watauga Humane Society is looking for a passionate professional to join our team as the Director of Development and Communications!  

Here’s the scoop: You’ll be the mastermind behind all things fundraising—think major gifts, special events, planned giving, and more. You’ll also lead the charge in communications, keeping our mission and success stories front and center in the community. Basically, you’ll be the hero behind our heroes (the animals, of course). 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic fundraising plans, including major gifts, annual fund programs, planned giving, and grant proposals.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with donors, supporters, and foundations.
  • Plan and coordinate special fundraising events.
  • Oversee and manage all external communications, including publications and donor recognition programs.
  • Track and evaluate fundraising goals to ensure objectives are met.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of professional fundraising experience.
  • Proven ability to develop relationships, communicate effectively, and inspire donor engagement.
