We're Hiring: Full Charge Bookkeeper and Maintenance Technician!

Full Charge Bookkeeper Job Summary:

The in-house Full Charge Bookkeeper is responsible for the management of all financial records and performs all daily aspects of the accounting function. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, including accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Process documentation for independent contractors including W-9 and 1099.
  • Perform account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of balances and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and record deposits from various sources.
  • Cash management
  • Correctly record and report restricted funds.
  • Prepare month end reconciliations for bank statements, credit card statements and ledgers.
  • Report and transfer sales tax due and request sales tax reimbursement.
  • Submit and record bi-weekly payroll and associated liabilities.
  • Review and prepare financial statements; and prepare documentation for annual audit.
  • Assist in preparation of annual budget.
  • Other duties assigned

Maintenance Techician Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician will work on many projects while ensuring high standards for performance and results. The ideal candidate will safely and efficiently execute corrective maintenance and develop a preventative maintenance program while keeping accurate records.

Duties

  • Create and implement preventive maintenance (PM) schedule for all buildings and systems as assigned.
  • Keep accurate records for maintenance and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Keep an accurate inventory of supplies needed regularly.
  • Review work lists with staff and ensure routine communication.
  • Develop and improve skills in all aspects of building maintenance through participation in approved training sessions.
  • Maintain a safe work environment. Perform all work in a safe manner and follow all associated safety guidelines.
  • Assist with grounds maintenance including winter weather preparations.
  • Contribute up-to-date maintenance and repair data.
  • Assist in loading and unloading various equipment and supplies.
  • Follow policies and procedures of Watauga Humane Society as set forth in the Employee Handbook.
  • Maintain a professional atmosphere at all times as you will be working around the public and volunteers.
  • Professionally represent Watauga Humane Society with outside contractors.
  • Other duties as assigned not specifically identified in the job description.
