Willa is a presence in her own right. She's a mood, a vibe, the total package.
But somehow, Willa has faded into the background. As a black dog in a sea of online photos, she's gone without a sponsor for quite some time. Considering she's been with us for 195 days, that's a little hard to stomach.
When she first came to us, she was painfully skinny. For months, we worked hard to help her gain weight, but nothing changed. Then one day, she wasn't herself.
She stayed curled up in the corner of her kennel, lethargic, barely interested in joining the others for their regularly scheduled barking seminar. We knew immediately something was wrong.
At the vet, they discovered an old toy lodged in her intestine, likely stuck there long before we met her. After surgery, Miss Willa bounced right back into the goofy, happy girl we know and love.
That surgery came with a $4,732.73 price tag. A huge expense, but denying her care was never an option. And while we do need help covering that cost, more than anything, Willa deserves to feel the support of this community behind her.
Would anyone be willing to sponsor this beautiful miniature horse while she waits for her person?
Willa is trained, affectionate, endlessly entertaining, and ready to bring love, loyalty, and just a touch of tasteful chaos into someone's life.
She does need to be the only dog in the home, but honestly, Willa has enough personality to count as at least three anyway.
