This year, the souls who needed us most weren’t the easy ones.

We treated eyes that had fused shut, mouths so infected one couldn’t eat, legs damaged beyond repair, and illnesses that required days, sometimes weeks, of around-the-clock care.
We performed amputations, mass removals, orthopedic repairs, full-mouth extractions, emergency diagnostics, and the kind of specialized treatments adoption fees will never come close to covering.

Some cost more than we had, until someone stepped in to help.
