A Message from our Shelter Director

April 13th, 2020

Dear Friends,

In the midst of uncertainty and worry, we have YOU to thank for showing us a silver lining.

On March 17th we closed our doors to the general public, and switched to an appointment-only system for fosters and adopters. Since then we have received over 200 applications from our community looking to help our animals! With that support, we have been able to place many of our pets into homes where they have been a source of comfort and love.

Beefcake, who spent 194 days in our care, was able to be paired with a loving foster, and soon after was ADOPTED by his foster mom! He is one out of 125 pets that was able to get out of the building last month!!

In order to keep operating to help pets like Beefcake, we have implemented some changes such as staggering staffing schedule, operating for limited hours by appointment only, and thoroughly cleaning areas between those appointments. In an effort to help flatten thr curve, we have also encouraged our volunteers to follow the Stay At Home Order, leaving all enrichment, socialization, and care in the hands of our amazing staff. This includes ensuring all birthdays are celebrated, and all snuggles received!

Your support helps us to care for animals in need, but our work here isn't done. During these trying times we need your support more than ever! Whatever you can do, we are all very grateful!
