In light of Governor Cooper's Phase 2.5 which is now in effect, the operating hours for the Arko Dog Park will be from dawn to dusk and the number of people in the park at any one time will be increased from 10 to 15.
However, all members are expected to continue to practice social distancing of a minimum of 6 feet and we strongly recommend that masks continue to be worn, especially at times of social distancing at the minimum of 6 feet isn’t possible. Masks are not only for the well being of the owner but also for those with whom the owner may interact. Dog waste stations are now open in the park and we ask that each owner be responsible for picking up both trash and waste matter and placing it in the appropriate containers.
Staff will now be checking the stations on an every other day basis so there should be no reason to find waste matter on the grounds. A word of caution, failure to pick up dog waste can lead to health issues for other dogs who may come in contact with it, so please, be a responsible owner at all times.
