Ruby: Strong, Sweet, and Straightforward
If you're looking for a no-nonsense, people-loving pup with a heart as big as the great outdoors-meet Ruby. This working pup thrives in wide-open spaces and human companionship. Dogs? Not so much. Ruby must be the only dog in the home, and she's a bit selective with her four-legged friends. But when it comes to humans, she's all in-especially if you're a kid with time for belly rubs.
Ruby's past is a patchwork. Found as a stray with a microchip linked to Avery Animal Hospital, we reached out to her listed owners who promised to pick her up. They never came. Turns out, Ruby had wandered into their lives too-showing up at their home, trying out life with their dogs (which didn't go so well), and eventually living free-range on their Newland farm. ?? That chapter closed when she ended up with us, still waiting for someone to truly call her own.
Ruby is leash-savvy, affectionate, and completely charmed the intake office staff. She's ready for a second shot at a real forever-just her, her person, and the big, beautiful outdoors.
This post is lovingly sponsored by Alison VanDyke, in memory of Shannon VanDyke Miller-thank you for helping Ruby write her next chapter.
Ruby is a 1-year-old, 53 pound spayed female pup.
