Bentley doesn't really do "personal space." He prefers... shared existence. He's the kind of dog who wants to be near his person; and yet, when night falls, he retires on his own like a gentleman. No crate required, he maintains a very respectable record as a houseguest.
During his intake, we discovered he was heartworm positive, and needed a foster home to endure treatment; calm is key during that process. And Bentley gives nervous energy, with eyes permanently stuck in wide mode. He was one of the lucky ones; someone stepped forward and gave him that chance.
Bentley is a simple man, but he can be a little vocal when the outside world feels scary, so a calmer home would suit him best. But he's social in all the right ways. Loves other dogs, reads the room well, and brings a polite curiosity to cats (he's intrigued, but working on it). On walks, he's friendly, improving on leash, and mildly offended when people don't stop to say hello.
If you'd like to help another dog like Bentley heal from heartworms, we have a senior girl who would love that chance.
Bentley's care is generously sponsored by April and Charlie Bocholis, in memory of Moose Ross and in honor of the Ross Family.
