Each year, Watauga Humane Society takes in 1900 animals but we can’t do it without you. To meet our annual $750,000 budget we need your support. Most of the money we receive are through donations.
This giving option allows us to use your donation where it is needed most at any given time.
Membership helps support all our efforts and makes you a member of WHS.
Make minimum $10 recurring donation per month in support of the needs of our animals.
These giving options support specific causes and give you the opportunity to donate in memory or honor of a person or animal:
To sponsor an animal for the time it is at the Humane Society select any animal and find the "Sponsor This Animal" label in the lower left side. You can also sponsor an animal in memory or in honor of a pet or person.
To make a donation in honor or memory of a person or animal. The recipient will receive a letter notifying them of the tribute.
Glynda’s HEART (Help Each Animal Receive Treatment) was established to honor Glynda Valentine, a long time volunteer and supporter of Watauga Humane Society, as well as a life long proponent of animal welfare. Created by her friends, HEART continues to honor Glynda’s passion for animal care, ensuring that Watauga Humane Society can be a place of refuge for hurt, abandoned and abused animals. Donations to HEART help fund general medical and preventative care for WHS animals, including immunizations and medications. Glynda wanted every animal to have the opportunity for a long and healthy life, and HEART continues let her spirit live on through the animals.
FLY (Forever Loving You) Fund was established to support emergency vet services to Watauga Humane Society dogs in need. It’s foundation is based on forever friendships, support, and caring for animals, as well as each other. By coming together, these funds have helped save the lives of several dogs in need of critical surgery and extensive vet treatment. FLY Fund gives WHS dogs a second chance to find caring and loving homes once rehabilitated. The first donation towards FLY Fund was in loving memory of a longtime companion named Muzzy - which makes her the first to receive her Angel Wings. We encourage donations to FLY Fund to be in memory of friends or animals that have since left us, helping them receive their Angel Wings too.
Doogie’s HOPE (Help Other Pets Eat) supports the purchasing of food for Watauga Humane Society animals, as well as for our community’s Pet Food Pantry. HOPE was established by Ronny and Patsy Turner in honor of their beloved dog, Doogie. By helping feed animals in need, Doogie’s memory can continue to live on and encourage others to support our vision of “no pet left unfed”.
